Nursery Guidelines for Health and Safety
Communicable Disease Policy
|
To prevent the spread of infectious diseases, please implement the following nursery guidelines:
- No sick child or child with a fever or productive cough will be left in the nursery
- All nursery workers will wear gloves while changing diapers.
- Soiled diapers, wipes, and used gloves will be placed in a disposable bag and dropped in the trash
can with the "step-on" lid opener and plastic liner.
- All infants are to be wearing disposable diapers while in the nursery.
- Children with open skin lesions or other wounds should not be admitted
unless the wound is bandaged; open wounds suffered during church
activities must be immediately cleaned and bandaged using universal
precautions.
- Nursery toys that are put in children's mouths should be placed in the bin marked "USED TOYS" to be washed and disinfected later.
- All spills or leakage of any body fluids (urine, feces, vomit, blood,
etc) will be wiped with a disposable cloth and cleaned with a disinfectant
cleaner. The used cloth should be placed in a plastic bag and dropped
in the trash can with the "step-on" lid opener and plastic liner.
