Purpose of Church Membership:

• Our church is a legal corporation in the State of Vermont. Our constitution and bylaws provide for individuals to become members of this corporation, and thus assist in making decisions regarding its operation.
• Membership offers a way for such individuals to identify themselves as being in agreement with the beliefs and practices of the church.
• Members agree to be accountable in matters of lifestyle and doctrine to the church body.
• The board would like to encourage anyone who attends Church of the Rock to become a member and participate in the decision making of the church.

Membership Requirement for Ministry:

• All Elected Offices: Eldership, Deacon, Pastor
• Music Ministry
• Small Group Leadership (membership can be pending)
• Missions Committee
• Officers of Men's and Women's Ministries
• Officers of Youth Board
• Leaders (Heads) of Children's Programs
• Ushers

Opportunities for Non-members:

• MOPS: Since MOPS is a ministry that reaches out to those in the community and to women in other churches, the leadership of MOPS can include those who are not members of the Church of the Rock. Such appointments are subject to approval by the Board of Elders.
• Children/Youth Helpers: There are many opportunities for non-members to assist in ministries to children and youth. In many cases, a volunteer will be the parent of a child in the program. Decisions as to these positions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
• Non-members must abide by the same guidelines and policies as members.
