Our Beliefs
-
Principles: the Truths which bring us together
The following statement of Fundamental Truths is intended as a basis of fellowship among us.
I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so
that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.
I Corinthians 1:10
-
The Bible is the Word of God
The Bible is the Word of God. We believe that the Bible, in its entirety, is the Word of God,
written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and it is our only infallible rule of faith and conduct.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
II Timothy 3:16-17
-
The Trinity
We believe the Godhead consists of the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Three in One and One in Three.
-
The Deity of Jesus Christ
We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, in His
virgin birth, His miracles, His substitution
on the cross, His bodily resurrection from the
dead, His exaltation to the right hand of God.
The Word became flesh and lived for awhile among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came
from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14
-
All Have Sinned
We believe all mankind as descendants of Adam have sinned, and that the wages of sin is death.
Death is eternal damnation and separation from god in the lake of fire.
-
Salvation by Faith
We believe that one's eternal salvation is made possible only by the redeeming blood
of Jesus Christ and is received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
One is saved by grace through faith, not as a result of works that no man should boast.
-
Baptism and Communion
We believe that every born again Christian should follow the example of our Lord in baptism
by immersion in water and by celebrating the Lord's Supper (Communion).
-
One Mediator
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man.
-
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience
from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth, and in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as being
valid and operative today, and that they should be earnestly desired by the believer.
-
Divine Healing
We believe in Divine Healing, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
-
Sanctification
We believe in sanctification and holiness of heart and the overcoming life as
Scriptural requirements for the Bride of Christ, and that the fruit of the Holy Spirit
should be increasingly evident in a Christian's life as demonstrated in Galatians 5
and Revelation 12:11
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
-
Jesus Christ's Return
We believe in Jesus Christ's personal return in power and great glory,
in His Millennial reign and in His everlasting dominion.
"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same
Jesus, who has been taken into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen
him go into heaven."
Acts 1:11
-
The Local Church
We believe that regular fellowship with other born again believers
and commitment to a local church, with regular participation in its activities,
is important to personal spiritual growth.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let
us encourage one another -- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:24-25
